Craft beer with a purpose
This weekend I met with Lane and Kelsey, Ward 13 residents, and the brew masters/owners of Buffalo 9 Brewing Co. This labour of love combines a passion for craft beer and military history, and with their delicious offerings, they pay tribute to the people who serve and sacrifice for our freedom. This gift of freedom gives us our democracy and the right to vote.
“We both have family members who served in the World Wars. This is a way to keep those stories alive.”
Lane and Kelsey love living in Ward 13 and hope to open a taproom close to home soon. Their signature beers, The Ridge by Midday IPA and The Peril in the Atlantic Pilsner, can be purchased at Ward 13 Co-op and Safeway liquor stores, as well as Collective Craft in Avenida. They are also launching a new Hazy Pale Ale this week, which I will definitely try for one of my craft beer Fridays.
